SLA / Resin printing

Prototypes.
Ready for a closer look.

Resin printing to assess shape, proportions and connecting features. Also suitable for display models and finely detailed miniatures.

When should you consider SLA?

See the shape.
Down to the details.

Design prototypes

Evaluate proportions, appearance and fit. If the model also needs to bear loads or work over time, we assess material suitability separately.

Display models

Present a shape and surface to a client or team. Mark the faces that need a clean appearance before printing.

Miniatures & sculptural models

Reliefs, fabric folds and facial details. We check that features remain printable at the model’s final scale.

Behind the print

Supports are
part of the process.

Here is the model on the build plate, with its supports still attached. They hold the part during printing and are removed afterwards.

Support placement and print orientation affect the surface. Mark visible areas and surfaces that matter for your evaluation in advance.

Before choosing a material

ABS-like.
Still resin.

The resins we use are more brittle than conventional ABS. “ABS-like” does not mean a printed part will behave like one made from ABS.

Impact, bending & repeated loads

Tell us if the part will be dropped, flexed, snapped into place or loaded. These requirements affect material and process selection, beyond how the print looks.

Thin details need attention

Being able to print a small feature does not guarantee it will withstand use. We also check thickness and how the part will be handled and assembled.

File preparation guide (Hebrew)
  1. Final size & quantity

Send a 3D file and specify the required dimensions. Scaling a model down also reduces wall thickness and fine features.

  2. Important surfaces

Mark visible areas and connecting features. Orientation and support placement affect the surface, and marks may remain after removal.

  3. How the part will be used

For display, a shape study or a functional application? Include loads, heat, bending and your target date so we can assess suitability.

What is the difference between SLA and MSLA?

Both processes use light to cure liquid resin in layers. In the MSLA process we use at the studio, an LCD screen defines each layer’s shape. We group our resin printing services under the familiar SLA name on this website.

Is ABS-like resin suitable for a mechanical part?

The name alone is not enough to decide. Our resins are more brittle than conventional ABS, so we need to assess forces, connections and operating conditions. For a flexible clip or an impact-exposed part, we may also consider SLS or FDM, depending on the project requirements.

Will the surface be completely smooth?

Resin printing allows smooth surfaces and fine detail, but layer lines and support contact marks can remain. Identify any visible face or important surface before printing. Appearance requirements and post-processing are agreed for each project.

What sizes and lead times are possible?

Send the file, dimensions, quantity and target date. We’ll check the part’s fit and print orientation, then confirm the delivery date in your quote.

Which files should I send?

STL, STEP, 3MF or OBJ files, plus a photo or drawing explaining the intended use. No finished file? Select “Start with a description” in the form to discuss design and modelling.
